With over 30 years of clinical experience across the healthcare continuum, Dena Bailey is a seasoned Certified Case Manager (CCM) and Certified Rehabilitation Registered Nurse (CRRN). Her career has been defined by an unwavering commitment to helping patients and families navigate the complexities of the healthcare system with clarity, compassion, and confidence.

But Dena’s passion for advocacy runs far deeper than her credentials.

“I founded Joy Nursing to ensure that individuals and families feel truly seen, supported, and safe as they navigate the often-overwhelming world of healthcare. Too often, I’ve witnessed patients fall through the cracks and missing out on essential care due to confusion, poor communication, or simply not knowing the right questions to ask.

The healthcare system is complex, and when you're facing a serious diagnosis or caring for a loved one, it can feel nearly impossible to manage it all on your own. Missed diagnoses, medication errors, and delayed treatments are not just unfortunate outcomes, they’re preventable, and they deeply impact lives.

With over 30 years of nursing experience, advocacy is not just part of my job, it’s who I am. I’ve walked alongside patients and families during their most vulnerable moments, and I know what it takes to ensure they receive the care and respect they deserve. I will fight tooth and nail for every bit of medical care you're entitled to, because no one should have to navigate this system alone.”

Dena’s dedication is also deeply personal. As both a daughter and a mother, she has walked through the healthcare system not only as a clinician, but as a caregiver. Her mother’s battle with breast cancer and her own journey raising a daughter born with a rare birth defect have given her a profound understanding of how overwhelming, confusing, and isolating healthcare can be.

These experiences shaped her belief that everyone deserves a nurse advocate. Everyone deserves someone who knows how to ask the right questions, coordinate care across specialists, and speaks up when things fall through the cracks. That is exactly what a nurse case manager does, and it is what Dena loves to do.
